We are delighted to announce that EASL has been acquired by Kinectrics Inc, a privately owned, global provider of lifecycle management services to the electric power industry.  Kinectrics headquarters is based in Toronto, Canada, and their worldwide trusted team of over 1,200 technical experts has an independent laboratory and state-of-the-art testing facilities.  The acquisition marks an important milestone for EASL and Kinectrics as it expands its footprint in the global nuclear industry and unites the two companies into a powerful provider of specialised engineering services.

Founded in 1988, EASL has built a strong reputation for excellence in providing engineering consultancy and authoritative structural integrity advice to influential clients in the UK’s nuclear industry. EASL’s expertise in high-temperature structural integrity design, analysis and assessment complements Kinectrics’ existing capabilities in engineering, testing, inspection, and certification, creating a more comprehensive suite of technical services for the nuclear industry.

The acquisition of EASL also strengthens Kinectrics’ presence in the UK market, which is one of the most advanced and sophisticated in the world.  The UK has a long history of nuclear power generation, with several large-scale nuclear plants currently in operation and plans for the construction of new nuclear facilities in the coming years.  EASL’s expertise in the nuclear industry will be critical in supporting Kinectrics’ growth in the UK and will offer additional resources to accommodate plant lifecycle management solutions for nuclear and new build projects for clients throughout Europe and North America.

“We are excited to embark on a new chapter of growth in the UK nuclear sector. EASL’s impressive team of dedicated and highly experienced engineers have valuable expertise providing solutions to the high temperature, gas reactor industry. said David Harris, President & CEO of Kinectrics. “This acquisition will expand our local presence and strengthen our ability to support SMR, AMR and Fusion clients in the UK and around the world.”

For EASL, the acquisition by Kinectrics represents an exciting opportunity to expand its reach and capabilities.  According to Antony Hurst, Founder and Managing Director of EASL, “Kinectrics is an excellent fit with EASL’s culture and values. Their world-renowned experts will complement our technical team.  The acquisition will broaden future opportunities available to existing EASL staff including new cutting-edge nuclear projects via existing relationships with SMR and AMR developers. It will also extend the capacity and scope of technical services we can offer to our existing UK clients.”

Overall, the acquisition of EASL by Kinectrics is a significant development for the nuclear and fusion industries, particularly in the UK.  By combining their complementary expertise, these two companies are well-positioned to provide the highest level of technical services and effectively support clients.
