Mike Nielsen Principal Engineer

Mike took an engineering apprenticeship in welding and fabrication from school, working his way to University and graduated in 2006 with a 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University. He joined EASL during his final year, working on a range of structural assessment and on-site support tasks for EDF Energy’s nuclear power stations including Sizewell B.

Mike holds specialisms in design code, piping assessments, finite element analysis, pipework analysis, and fracture assessment. His current position works with NNB Genco on the Hinkley Point C EPR project working as a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer responsible for acceptance of structural analysis and assessment aspects of the Station Safety Case.
