Peter Akhigbe-Midu - EASL

Peter Akhigbe-Midu Graduate Engineer

Peter joined EASL in 2023 after completing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Manchester.  His academic research was focused on Scaled Fatigue Testing, Material Model Development and CAE Model Automation.

Peter discovered a new relationship for the number of cycles to fatigue failure thus solving the 40-year-old problem of inexact scaling of Paris law and similar empirical power laws such as Basquin and Coffin-Manson.  In addition to this, he successfully used two scaled experiments to accurately predict the fatigue behaviour of structures for both low and high-cycle fatigue.

His specialisms include:

  • Design
  • Finite Element Analysis
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Fatigue
  • Fracture Mechanics.
